Feb 21st - Congratulations to Scott and Patricia Naugle on their new baby boy. Noah Mitchell Naugle weighted 6.69 lbs and was 19 inches long.
FMFD HONORS MEMBERS AT ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET
Feb 16th - On Saturday The Fannett-Metal Fire & Ambulance Company held their annual awards banquet at the Fannett-Metal High School. Approximately 125 people were in attendance for the banquet. Guest included Rep. Mark Keller, Path Valley Lions Club, Boy Scouts from Troop 250, K & D Repair, and guest from mutual aid departments. Another successful year for the Fannett-Metal Fire & Ambulance Company due to community support.

FEBRUARY STARTS OFF BUSY
Feb 1st - At 0508 hrs FMFD with NHFD was alerted to mile marker 198 westbound for an auto fire. Ambulance 12-8 arrived to find a working fire. Crews from FMFD and NHFD contained the fire within 5 minutes. While en route to the fire, Engine 12-1 stopped to investigate another crash at mile marker 193 eastbound. Turnpike maintenance was on the scene and advised no need for fire and EMS. Shortly after returning Engine 12-1 responded to mile marker 181 westbound for an auto accident in the 21-76 box reported with entrapment. Turnpike crews arrived and held EMS only. Engine 12-1 cleared at 0634 hrs.

FM EMS COVERS THE 9 BOX
Jan 26th - Ambulance 12-9 with a crew of three covered the MMP&W first due area for EMS. Ambulance 12-9 was en route and communications alerted them to the famous 13805 Blairs Valley Road, yes you guessed it Whitetail Ski Resort. Ambulance 12-9 arrived to find a patient with a head injury. Medic 118 was alerted and the patient was flown to Hershey Medical Center via Lifelion. Ambulance 12-9 handled two more calls before clearing at 2300 hrs.

"ENGINE 12-2 TO HEADQUARTERS"
Jan 24th - At 0924 hrs a call was received at the station from 17471 Amberson Road. The homeowner advised that her ceiling fan was shorting out. Engine 12-2 requested the box. Engine 12-2, Tanker 12, and Ambulance 12-8 responded to the scene. Engine 12-2 arrived to find a mobile home with normal conditions from side "A". The TIC revealed that the fan was 105 degrees. The motor in the fan had shorted out. The box was held to Co.12 and Eng 21-1. Units cleared at 0947 hrs.
MOBILE HOME FIRE IN METAL TOWNSHIP
Jan 23rd - FMFD units were alerted to assist MTFD with a mobile home fire on Elm Ave. Chief 21 arrived to find a working fire in a mobile home. MTFD put a good stop on the fire. Tanker 12 arrived to assist with water. Eng 12-2 arrived and assisted with overhaul. Units clear shortly after.

Jan 20th - At 0444 hrs Engine 12-1 was alerted to assist the State Police with lighting and searching for victims of a property damage accident in Amberson. No victims were found and crews were available at 0545 hrs.

MORNING ACCIDENT
Jan 3rd - At 0649 hrs FMFD was alerted to 20696 Spring Run Road West for an auto accident. Units arrived to find one auto in to rock. The engine crew checked the auto for hazards and EMS took care of a refusal. Units cleared at 0706 hrs.
E.M.S NIGHT IN THE VALLEY
Nov 24th - Around 1630 hrs FM EMS was alerted to Dry Run Road West for a gunshot victim. Units staged until the scene was clear. Communications advised Chief 12A that a male had a gunshot wound to the head, however was still conscious and breathing. STAT Med Evac was then placed in the air to the rear of the station. Engine 12-2 & Assistant Chief 12 took care of flight operations. While cleaning Ambulance 12-8 from the call, communications alerted Ambulance 12-9 to the turnpike for an injured person. Ambulance 12-9 arrived to find 5 patients that needed to be transported to the hospital. Ambulance 21-8 (MTFD) & Ambulance 12-8 was alerted to the scene. All units transported to the NEW Fulton County Medical Center. Crew cleared everything around 2000 hrs.

PATH VALLEY ROAD & SPRING RUN ROAD
Nov 15th - At 0830 hrs FMFD was alerted for an auto accident at the above location. Units arrived to find 2 autos and a feed truck involved. All the patients were evaluated by EMS, and refusals were obtained. Units cleared at 0916 hrs.
AMBULANCE GETS SURPRISED
Oct 28th - At 0630 hrs while Ambulance 12-9 was transporting to the Chambersburg Hospital they rounded a turn on the Forge Hill Road to find them selves tangled in telephone line. An accident had just happened and a pole was in the roadway. The EMS Crew assisted the driver from the burning auto. Additional units were alerted to the scene from FMFD and PHVFC & Ambulance 12-9 finished the transport the hospital. Chief 12 arrived to confirm a working fire in the pickup truck. Engine 12-1, Engine11-2, Engine 11-1, Ambulance 12-8, Ambulance 11-8, & Medic 84 handled the scene of the accident. FMFD units cleared at 0700 hrs. (Photo's Courtesy of Brian Denham)
FATAL ACCIDENT ON AMBERSON ROAD
Oct 14th - At 0050 hrs FMFD was alerted to the 16000 block of Amberson Road for an auto accident with ejection. Ambulance 12-8 was first to arrive and found one class 4 patient. Engine 12-1 & Engine 12-2 assisted with lighting. Crews cleared at 0409 hrs.
FLY OUT FROM THE SPEEDWAY
Oct 13th - Deputy Chief 12A called for an ambulance to the Path Valley Speedway Park on Saturday Night for an injured person from a motorcycle accident. After all was said and done, Engine 12-1 set up a landing zone for Life Lion and the patient was sent to a trauma hospital.
Oct 12th - Around lunch time on Friday crews from FMFD and MTFD arrived at the school for fire prevention week. Crews from both departments set up multiple displays outside for the children to observe.

TANKER 12 ASSIST ON THE HUNTINGDON 7-12 BOX
Oct 3rd - At 1634 hrs Tanker 12 was alerted to Shirley Township in Huntingdon County for a house fire. Tanker 12 responded with two personnel and assisted with water supply operations. Tanker 12 hauled 2 loads of water and was then released. Available at 1912 hrs.

GUN BASH A GREAT SUCCESS
Sept 22nd - Crews from FMFD and Station 4 arrived at the picnic woods around 7am on Saturday for the Gun Bash fundraiser. Both departments had fun and it was a perfect day for the event. Thanks to everybody that helped and donated items. Special Thanks to Gander Mountain and M&S Harley Davidson for there help in the event.

BARN FIRE IN MMP&W FIRST DUE
Sept 19th - Engine 12-2 transferred to Co.18 (Saint Thomas), while at Co. 18 Engine 12-2 was alerted to the scene at 11335 Shimpstown Road to assist with the barn fire. The engine crew assisted with overhaul and extinguishment operations. Engine 12-2 cleared at 2241 hrs.

ASSISTING HUNTINGDON CO.14
Sept 14th - On Friday evening Shade Gap Fire Company was alerted to the Neelyton Mountain for an auto accident. Deputy Chief 14 arrived and requested an Engine and Ambulance from FMFD. Units arrived and found 2 autos in the roadway. Crews assisted with hazards and traffic control, EMS obtained refusals.

CRASH AT 75 & 641
Sept 11th - On Tuesday afternoon FMFD was alerted to the 16000 block of Path Valley Road for an auto accident. Units arrived to find one mini van and a tractor trailer with the roadway part blocked. Units controlled hazards and obtained patient refusals.
100 YEARS IN THE BOOKS
Aug 18th - As the 100th Annual Path Valley Picnic came to an end, some are sad some are happy but was can all agree it was a great week. The picnic was a great success. Thanks to everybody that made the picnic possible for 100 years.

June 22nd & June 23rd - The kids arrived around 6pm on Friday evening for the 2007 Kids Weekend. On Friday evening the Pennsylvania DCNR was on station with Smokey Bear. Saturday the activities included, vehicle extrication, EMS, SCBA, Tanker operations, MMP&W Tower 9, & the water games.
It's not a complete weekend unless the chief gets wet!!!
Special Thanks to the Pennsylvania DCNR and Chief Stoner for the use of Tower 9 with the transfer crew from Co.2 for their Participation.
